WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe in holiness because God is Holy and has ordained that we should be Holy. According as he has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love," Ephesians 1:4.

We believe in holiness because it is the will of God and our Savior Jesus Christ. It is also a clean life. If one does not wish to live holy, he does not wish to live clean.

How were they baptized? According to Acts 2:38; 8:12-17; 10:43-44; 19:1-6; and Romans 6:1-10. These examples represent the execution of the command given in St. Matthews 28:19. Salvation is in the name Jesus. "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call his name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins," St. Matthew 1:21. So if we are not saved from our sins, it is our fault, not Jesus!

Neither is there salvation in any other name for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. The name of Jesus is important in our salvation, because he said, "And in His name shall the Gentiles trust," St. Matthew 12:21. All our hope and trust should be in the name of Jesus.

Many do not understand St. Matthew 28:19, so they do not baptize according to Acts 2:38 where Peter carried out the commission Jesus gave to His disciples in St. Matthew 28:19, "Go ye therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." This was the command - the execution of the command! "Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost," Acts 2:38. If you have not been baptized in the name of Jesus as we have stated, you need a baptism. Other Scriptures are Romans 6:1-10; Acts 8:12; 19:1-6, and 10:43-48.

"For in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily," Col. 2:9. So if you want to know who God is come to Jesus, and He will make known to you who the Father is. Read St. John 8:24. "Phillip said unto Him, Lord show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Phillip? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father: and how sayest thou then show us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, He doeth the work. Believe me that I am in the Father, and Father in me: or else believe me for the very works sake." St. John 14:8-11. We believe without a doubt that Jesus is God.
